What are the Tour Purse Opportunities?
  • Offering a purse of $1,000,000 each week, Pro Tour Hawaii open events present golfers, both men and women, a challenging series of nine 3-day professional tournaments.
     
  • The Tournament of Champions, held Week Nine, offers tournament winners and top overall money winners a chance to vie for the title of Pro Tour Hawaii Tour Champion and $2 Million championship purse.


What is the Tour format?

  • 3 day, 72 hole tournament played 24 holes per day in 9 stages
  • An international field with 72 golfers per event
  • Open to 144 players competing for 72 spots each week in the Friday qualifier
  • An Open competition format, both men and women golfers
  • Weekly qualifiers: $100 per qualifier
  • Affordable entry fees: $400 per event
  • Complimentary practice rounds for event players
  • No membership costs
  • No obligation to play in all events


Who participates in Friday Qualifiers?

  • All players must qualify to participate in Pro Tour Hawaii events
  • The top 72 players from the previous week's event will play in the qualifier to be eligible to play in the upcoming event
  • Friday Qualifiers are for up to 144 players


Do I have to play in all events?


Pro Tour Hawaii participants can compete in one or more events or the entire series.  There is no requirement to play in all tour events.

HAWAII GOLF FACTS

1924 Hilo Country Club opens with 9 holes; it is the second golf layout on the Big Island of Hawaii. The course is sold in 1974, and no longer exists.

1926
Francis H. Brown wins the Manoa Cup for the 1926 Hawaiian Amateur Match Play Championship at Oahu Country Club, his fifth win. The tournament format changes from stroke play to match play in 1926.
